Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module collision judgement system malfunction

Detection condition

•  The emergency call unit receives the collision judgement system malfunction signal from the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module.

•  Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module detected the collision judgement system malfunction

•  Malfunction in CAN communication line between the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module and emergency call unit

•  Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module malfunction

•  Emergency call unit malfunction

•  Perform the DTC inspection for the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module.

•  Are any DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No

Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION LINE

•  Perform an inspection in accordance with the multiplex communication system diagnostic procedure.
(See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(E)].)

•  Is the CAN communication line normal?

Yes

Replace the emergency call unit and perform the repair completion verification.

(See EMERGENCY CALL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

(See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(E)].)

VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED

•  Perform the DTC inspection.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)

•  Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No
